Damwanden
1. Soorten
De meest voorkomende soorten zijn:
- Z-profielen
- U-profielen
- Platte profielen
- En verder : buispalen (voor gebruik in combinatie met Z- of U-profielen in de combiwand)
- En: HP-palen, of funderingspalen. Eveneens mogelijk in combinatie met Z- of U-profielen.
2. Toepassing
De damwandprofielen worden toegepast voor de constructie van grondkerende constructies zoals: kademuren, havenwerken, sluizen, geleidewerken en oeverbeschermingen van rivieren en kanalen.
Ruime toepassing wordt ook gevonden bij: bouwputten, zowel op het land als in het water, kistdammen en ondergrondse constructies in het algemeen.
De Z- en U-profielen worden gebruikt bij belasting op buiging. De platte profielen worden gebruikt bij belasting op trek.
De Z- en U-profielen kunnen alleenstaand worden gebruikt, of gebruikt in combinatie met buispalen, elkaar of HP-palen, de zogeheten combiwanden.
