Steel solutions for lightweight steel-framed construction
The European Light Steel Construction Association (LSK) in collaboration with the Centre Information Acier / Staalinfocentrum had organized a workshop focused on the WISH method. The WiSH method is a simplified method of design for cold-formed steel buildings, focused on of simple single family houses and low-rise office buildings (ground floor + 1 floor + attic). The method allows to easy-design cold-formed steel houses by means of a well-defined scope, an easy-to-use software which was developed in the basis of the Eurocodes and a series of constructional details.
Promotion and dissemination of this method in Europe is carried out in the frame of the European Project WISH, “Workpack for Design of Steel House”.
For this purpose, a series of six workshops in Belgium, France and Spain have been organized during autumn 2008. The WiSH workshop took place on September, 23rd 2008 in ALD Business Center Z.4 Broekooi 280 in Asse-Kobbegem.
In this workshop, an overview of the method has been carried out and the participants are been trained in the use of the method by carrying out a practical case study.
